Saturday was Josh and Stephanie’s wedding. This post will feature everything but the reception, which definitely deserves its own post. The ceremony was held at St. Matthew’s Lutheran church in Winona, MN and then we drove around Winona to one of the lakes for pictures.
I’m trying so hard to express how much I loved this wedding, but I can’t. Josh and Stephanie were one of my very first couples to book me after I went full-time, and I’ve been SO looking forward to their wedding. They are so sweet, so fun, and so cute. It is very easy to take their picture. Even after almost 9 years together, they are still obviously very much in love. There was so much meaning in so many parts of their wedding. I feel like I’ve really gotten to know them and their families, which is one of the reasons why I love this job so much. It is so amazing to spend the entire day with a couple on what will probably be one of the happiest days of their lives.
So, before everyone starts crying, on with the pictures! There are lots of detail pictures to share.
Stephanie’s maid of honor was also her hair stylist!
This series of photos were taken by my second shooter, Dawn Silva. I was taking the formal pictures of the groomsmen…it is so nice to have someone that I totally trust to capture these moments.
More details (my favorite no-head, bouquet shots)
I’ve always wanted to get a picture of the bride walking down the aisle from the back. I can never get it though because I’m always capturing everyone walking down the aisle. I asked Dawn to capture it, and she totally got it. I’m so jealous of this picture!
After the ceremony, Josh and Stephanie stepped outside for the receiving line, but there were these tiny, gnat-like bugs everywhere. I caught them “grooming” each other. 🙂 See what I mean? I just couldn’t stop taking pictures of them!
Unfortunately, it rained off and on most of the day, but Josh and Stephanie were troopers. I asked them how they felt about getting a little wet and dirty, and they just said, “Ok!” The Winona lakes were really foggy and eery looking. It made for some dramatic pictures.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post of the reception. You won’t be disappointed.
