Ember and Drew, a super special maternity session

I’ve been a little MIA for the past week or so, but hopefully this super special post makes up for it all. This weekend, I visited my friends Ember and Drew who live in Michigan. They are having a baby girl due in March. On Saturday, I attended the baby shower and of course snapped some pictures. Ember is holding a blanket made by her mom (second from the left). Her sister Becky is in the middle. I photographed Becky and her husband Justin’s wedding in May 2007 when I was pregnant with Max. It was my first wedding and if you dig through my blog archives you can find them (don’t judge – it was my first!).

I traveled with my friend Rachel to the shower. I met Ember and Rachel in college (in a multimedia class, I think?) and also had a photography class with Rachel and her then boyfriend, now husband. Rachel started up a part time photography business last year. On Sunday, Rachel and I forced Ember and Drew into a mini-maternity session.

Rachel set up this pose and I like the moody, arty feel to it. 🙂

Ember’s mom (who flew in from Fargo) was there too, so of course we had to get a few of the two of them.

Then a picture of Rachel, me, and Ember. Hard to believe that we have been friends now for 10 years. By the way, Rachel is also pregnant (with her third!).

Ember and Drew, thank you again for letting me stay at your house and eat your food and take your pictures. I can’t wait to see baby Lucy. I’m so happy for you two! And, Rachel, thanks for being a great traveling companion and buying me Doritos. 🙂
