Saturday was Garret and Amy’s wedding. It was very long-awaited (by me) because it was my first wedding of the season! The ceremony took place at Holy Trinity in La Crosse, WI. I live just a few blocks from this church and have actually taken pictures of Max outside. I was excited to get inside, and I wasn’t dissapointed. It is filled with lots of nooks and crannies — perfect for awesome detail shots.
Dawn wasn’t able to help me with this wedding so I totally worked up a sweat getting this shot (carrying Amy’s dress up a flight of steps! – and, of course, didn’t let it get dirty or let it touch the ground). It was worth it, I think.
If you remember Garret and Amy’s engagement pictures, their dog, Jackson, is very important to them. We actually drove all the way to Amy’s parents house after the ceremony just to get a few pictures with Jackson. He was pretty happy!
Then down to Riverside park for some fun, wedding party pictures. The rain held off!

This picture of the first dance was an accident. They shut the lights off immediately after I took it. It is much more dramatic with the lights on, I think.
Amy and her dad definitely have a special bond. Their father-daughter dance totally made me tear up (as usual).
The mother-son dance always makes me tear up too when I start thinking about Max some day. 🙂

Blooms! That gives me hope. Great start to your wedding season. I love the one of the shoes, and the black and white first dance. And I must admit that I am glad I am not the only one who tears up at the father/daughter, mother/son dances.
