Alright, finally, the wedding!
A few things, and then straight to the pictures because I have so many! Dawn Silva, my fabulous second shooter, is on vacation for awhile. While she is away, April Bodenburg, my friend and former bride (who recently had a drastic career change to photography) is helping me out. April has her own blog and will be posting her pictures soon. I will update this post when she does. Update: April posted the pictures on her blog here. They are incredible. I’m so happy she was with to help. Can you believe this was just her third time second shooting? She photographed the guys getting ready at the Bentley-Wheeler guest house here in La Crosse.
I photographed Colleen and the girls at Colleen’s parent’s house. Later, the ceremony was held at Blessed Sacrament and the reception at the Grand Hotel Ballroom located above the Pearl ice cream and coffee shop (the ballroom is by far one of my favorite reception sites in La Crosse).
At Colleen’s parent’s house…
They broke out a little champagne to celebrate before the ceremony. ๐
I don’t post wedding party pictures very often to save room, but all of the groomsmen were Gavin’s friends and family from Ireland. I had to post a couple of them. They were so fun!
After the ceremony, Colleen and Gavin checked into their ballroom suite at the Bentley Wheeler bed and breakfast. We took some pictures there too.
You long-time blog followers may remember a similar picture I took last summer in these chairs at the Bodega. I noticed these groomsmen sitting in them and laughed.
Of course, I captured Colleen and Gavin too.
Then to the Grand Hotel Ballroom…
Gavin made the most genuine, loving speech at the reception. This is seriously why I love this job so much.
Gavin’s brother and best man played an Irish song before the dance.
Then we had some time before the dance to walk around downtown a bit. I just love these pictures. That’s all I can say, really.
Um, Colleen, you are gorgeous! ๐
Gavin and Colleen, thank you, really. It was truly an honor to capture your wedding day. I wish you two much happiness, and you know if I’m ever in Ireland, I am stopping by for a visit! It was a joy.

Um – ya…ditto to Krystal — these are all so incredible. Love the shots while the girls were getting ready… love that teapot!! ๐ And the shots during the ceremony… *sigh*…gorgeous. And how you use the off-camera lighting during the dance is crazy-amazing. Colleen and Gavin are so adorable, and had such a beautiful wedding – I’m so happy you were able to capture it. Thanks so much for letting me tag along!! ๐
